Review: Terranova Shea Butter Creamy Moisture Sugar Scrub

terranovasheascrub.jpgWhat They Say: "Blending Shea butter with gently exfoliating cane sugar, rich Brazil nut and grapeseed oils, plus humectant honey, this rich and velvety smooth body polisher offers perfect pampering to renew and stimulate."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow: This scrub, with its tropical fresh scent, is different from many sugar scrubs I've tried in the past. I guess you could say its density is different. Basically, there is more cream cleanser in it instead of more sugar. (The closest thing I can come up with is that it's similar in consistency to tapioca, but with lots of sugar crystals in it - that may not be a very good description, so don't let that turn you off.) I think this helps it to be more gentle, as it claims to be, than some sugar scrubs. It definitely leaves skin softer (much!), though not intensely hydrated. A little goes a long way, and as an everyday scrub this generous 7 oz. jar with its uplifting scent could really start your day off right.

Review: Terranova Red Tea and Cocoa Blossom Perfume Essence

terranovaredtea.jpgWhat They Say: "The purest form of this lush scent dazzles with exotic African Red Tea flowers, seductive cocoa blossoms, marine breezes and sparkling orange.

[This] pampering formula is scented with the exotic aroma of Red Tea and Cocoa Blossom. Inspired by the dazzling flowers of the African Red Tea bush, that cause even the air to taste sweet, this magical journey continues with a lush mix of seductive cocoa blossoms, jasmine and lotus, all splashed with marine breezes and sparkling orange."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow: While this fragrance wasn't exactly as exotic as I had anticipated, it's still got fantastic staying power as most essential oil-type fragrances like this do (think The Body Shop). It's quite fresh, and the citrus is perhaps one of the strongest notes at first. As it wears on, the soft florals make their way into the forefront.

This may be a bit strong on the citrus end for some of you, unless that is a note you favor. I picture this as being great for someone young or young at heart, who enjoys a relaxed and casual scent that is a bit crisp.

Retail Price: $13.95 (at uncommonscents.com or call 800.966.3457 to get information about retail locations near you)

(Remember, DeLush does not give ratings to fragrances because each individual has unique preferences and body chemistry that affect their experience with scents. What we want to do is give you our best explanation of the fragrance from our experience and let you know about the staying power, etc. For more fragrance ideas, just go to the "Perfumes" category to see what else we've tried!)
