Review: Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist

juicebeautyhydrating.jpgWhat They Say: A harmonic blend of certified organic, antioxidant-rich white and red grape juices, soothing aloe vera, nutrient-rich rosehip, grapeseed oil and vitamins to hydrate and balance skin's natural moisture for a fresh complexion.

• balances and tones
• hydrates

HOW TO USE:
Mist lightly on freshly cleansed skin and throughout the day for exhilarating refreshment.

Melissa Says: Who doesn't like the idea of having a way to wake up and refresh your tired face from time to time with a spritz of soothing moisture? Well, this does that well, but I have to say that the scent detracts from the pleasant experience, in my opinion. It's quite bitter, and no matter how many times I try to get used to it, I simply can't get myself to look forward to spraying it in my face. I'm not sure how well it balances or tones the skin, because I didn't personally notice any difference, but I'm sure with Juice Beauty's attention to ingredients it's not bad for your skin. However, I won't be keeping it in my rotation, especially when I know there are other facial mists out there without the unpleasant smell.

Juice Beauty SPF 30 Sheer Moisturizer

What
They Say: "This sheer moisturizer combines chemical-free, full spectrum SPF 30 sun protection with certified organic white grape and pomegranate juices, vitamin antioxidants, and essential nutrients to replenish and protect for optimum antiaging benefits."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow:
I really don't know how to guage a sunscreen's main purpose - protecting against sun damage - without doing some sort of fancy schmancy scientific tests, of which I have no knowledge to actually complete. So I will take their word for it that if it says SPF 30, that I'm probably getting some serious sun protection. Now, it's the rest of the whole experience that I can atually tell you about.

With its citrus ingredients, this smells completely fresh and energizing, which is a wonderful bonus to applying sunscreen each morning. (It's also an incentive for us lazy types who can use all the incentive we can get.) The texture is so light and smooth, and doesn't leave my skin feeling or looking greasy. I love the pump; it's easy and mess-free. I really feel like my skin wakes up after I've put this on.

And if the idea of fresh, organic ingredients makes you excited, this brand which was recently voted the top Organic Beauty Brand by Style.com is a great way to go.

Retail Price: $29.00 (juicebeauty.com and sephora.com)

Juice Beauty Smooth Exfoliating Cream

What They Say: "A unique exfoliating cream to effectively remove dulling dead skin cells, polish and energize the skin. Tiny jojoba beads slough without irritation, while elderflower and shea butter soothe the freshly revealed, glowing skin. Pure, certified organic essential oils of rose, neroli, and sweet orange invigorate and uplift. Great for sensitive skin."

Melissa's DeLush Downlow:
Tired of exfoliators that leave your face feeling dry, tight, and uncomfortable? I just hate that. I was looking for something gentle yet effective and came across the idea of jojoba beads in several brands that I was looking at. I chose this because I liked how gentle the ingredients seemed to be, and because I'd never used anything by Juice Beauty before.

This is a pure winner in my book. I love the light, fruity scent and the way my face feels afterward. What you do is rub some in a circular motion on a dry face, then rinse off. Afterward, my skin feels glowy, smooth, and healthy without the dry after-effect. I couldn't be happier.
