What They Say: (about The Bronzer) "Now, your skin and your senses are under the influence of Tom Ford. The message is nude. A makeup collection that reflects Tom Ford's provocative philosophy. Real gold in the makeup gives it a gilded, glamorous edge. Tom Ford on the collection: 'This collection is very much my philosophy of beauty. I've concentrated only on nude shades for the lips and nails. This is what I always really like...a neutral mouth, beautiful skin and a dramatic, strong eye. One look that works for many skintones.'" (about The Brush) *We don't have an official description at press time.
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: From the excitedly-anticipated Amber Nude II collection, this bronzer is more Fall-appropriate than the Azurée bronzer from this summer. This one is more tan and less tawny, and fairly subtle. The color doesn't turn orange at all as the day wears on and it stays put. Also, the compact is very generously-sized - about 50% wider in diameter than normal compacts.
The brush is incredibly soft and easy-to-handle. It helps to apply the bronzer evenly in just a few swipes. It's gentle on your face and just using it adds some glamour to the process of getting ready.

What They Say: “Take yourself on a beautiful journey. This limited edition highlighting powder leaves skin luminous, vibrant, shimmering with the cool patina of platinum. Sweep it on forehead, above cheekbones, on chin. From the Mythical Beauty Fall Color 2006 Collection. Expressions of art and fantasy. Let your imagination run wild.”
Toya’s Take: I like this product, but don’t love it. It’s a really nice illuminating or highlighting powder. The packaging and look of the Illuminator are very similar to the Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks and it has almost the same effect, though it only comes in one color. It gave my skin a nice, candlelit glow when I applied it as suggested. The effect lasted and I think it’s a good option if you’re looking to give your skin some soft shimmer.

What They Say: "The Body Oil Spray is a lightweight body oil that gives skin a sensual sheen. Fragranced with the provocative, modern scent of the azurée body collection."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: It would be very easy to get the wrong idea about this product. Like myself, you may imagine it to possibly be greasy, shiny, and messy.
Well, you'd be wrong.
When you spray this onto your skin and rub it in, what you'll notice right away is that it almost immediately absorbs, leaving skin soft and silky with a healthy glow, but no shine and absolutely no greasy feel. Your hands won't even feel slick after applying it! This is definitely a more grown up version of body oil spray, with no sparkles and no glaring sheen. It just makes your skin feel soft moisturized and look healthy. The fragrance is the only thing that I'd say may not appeal to each and every one of you. But that doesn't mean that I think it's not nice. It's like a combination of baby powder and suntan oil in fragrance, and I rather like it, but I'd recommend testing it at the counter before committing to it if you aren't sure that's something you'd like.

What They Say: "Experience the look, the feel, the beauty of azurée, Summer 2006, from the Tom Ford Estée Lauder Collection. Three color palettes, and a body collection that captures the spirit of sultry afternoons that go on forever, and wraps you in the seductive glow of summer. The Body Tint is a liquid body bronzer to smooth over legs and body for the look of summer--all over. Lightly fragranced with the provocative, modern scent of the azurée body collection."
Jen's Experience: I have so many great things to say about this product, I hardly know where to start. Straight out of the bottle, the ginger-colored bronzer is a thick liquid that is easy to control as I spread it on my arms, legs and chest. I found that it's easier to make the color even when I worked with smaller amounts, but I had no trouble correcting areas of over and under-application. This product can also be used to cover up streaks from your self-tanner or even light tan lines. Be sure to wait until the tint is completely dry before putting on your clothing. Luckily, it seems to dry fairly quickly.
The tint itself is very natural, not at all orange, and seems to last a long time even in heat and humidity. I wouldn't recommend it for wearing to the beach or to the pool, but I had no problems dining outdoors on a steamy July evening. And if you're worried about the color sweating into your clothes, I'd recommend testing it at home to get a feel for how it reacts to your body chemistry.
The scent of this bronzer is worlds above any of the self-tanners in my cabinet. In fact, it has the scent of a high-end perfume. I can't help feeling gorgeous when I'm wearing it. It's one of the most exciting products I've tested in a long time.

What They Say: "Experience the look, the feel, the beauty of Azurée, Summer 2006, from the Tom Ford Estée Lauder Collection. Tom Ford on the Azurée makeup collection: "This is a collection for the woman whose fantasy takes her away to sexy, remote beaches." Smooth on wherever the sun would naturally give you color, in this order:
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: Of the powder bronzers I've been trying recently, this is one of the most realistic and non-scary to use. The color is truly a bronze-y tan, with no orange tint at all and only an incredibly subtle hint of shimmer. It also goes on sheer and builds, so you don't have to worry about accidentally putting a big blotch on your face if you don't blow the excess off the brush after you swirl it on the product. The color stays true during the day and doesn't irritate skin. In my opinion this is a truly reliable and user-friendly bronzer, especially for those with fair and medium skin tones.

3. Remove and discard.
Jeannette's Take: I am in my early 50's so that means I'm into a more aggressive attack on the signs of aging. So I was very excited to try Estee Lauders Perfectionist Power Correcting Patch. I have very sensitive dry skin with some lines and wrinkles. After applying the patches I felt a very slight tingling and some warmth - but very slight. At this first use, I was experiencing puffy eyes due to allergies and was very tired and it showed. After the 20 minutes was up the first thing that I noticed was how awake and refreshed I looked! Just looking tired at this age really ages you, so I was pleasantly surprised!! I was not expecting that. Also it addressed the bags under the eyes due to my allergies. The skin around my eyes seemed tighter and more smooth.
Over all I was impressed. You are to use the patches every day for one week and then once a week there after. I plan to continue using them once a week and would like to incorporate the Perfectionist CP+1 with Poly-Collagen Peptides Correcting Serum that Estee Lauder recommends you use with it. I will probably lean on them heavily on those days I look tired, it was most impressive how refreshed I looked!

What They Say: "You're born with smooth, perfect skin. But as you get older, skin's ability to renew itself begins to slow down dramatically. Gradually, the fine, even texture becomes rough and uneven as skin is less able to shed dull, dead cells and regenerate new ones. The result? Skin looks lifeless. Lines, wrinkles, and age spots look more visible. Your skin needs a jump start.
While scrubs and masks do a good job of smoothing the surface of the skin, Glycolic Peels, now a standard procedure in the dermatologist's office, offer the true revolution in skin re-smoothing. A single treatment can clear away dead surface cells, unstop clogged pores and leave skin looking dramatically more radiant, fresher and smoother.
Now, with just one treatment, you can achieve the same results as a 30% professional Glycolic Acid peel in the privacy and convenience of your own home with this advanced DermSolution from Estee Lauder."
Jen's Experience: Normally, I get a new mask or scrub from the store over the weekend, and I'll settle into a nice bubble bath so that I can enjoy the process. My skin will tingle a little when I put it on and when I remove it, my face feels like it can breathe, but my face doesn't necessarily look all that different.
My experience with this product was totally different.
I spread a thin layer of the Thermal Facial Peel all over my moist face after I washed it. Immediately, it felt very warm on my face. Over the 15 minutes I relaxed with it on my face, it went from warm to a little tingly, to feeling like it was making its way deep into my pores.
Once the 15 minutes were up, I removed the peel using the Calming neutralizer pads. I felt like the neutralizer pads weren't really all that calming, but they did a great job removing the peel and really making my face feel clean.
Immediately afterwards, my face was very rosy. By morning, it was back to its normal shade, but definitely had more of a glow. My skin tone seems to be much more even. I've even contemplated not wearing foundation to work days after using the peel!
I am really a big fan of this product alread in the short time that I've used it. It may not be as inexpensive as some of the peels you'll find in the drugstore, but there are 10-15 applications in the packaging for the Perfectionist Peel, and I think you'll find the results closer to that of a professional facial rather than your every day mud mask.
Rating:

Update: I spoke with an Estee Lauder representative today in my local department store. The peels are now arriving in stores, but, at least in her case, they were sold immediately. You can place an order with them and they will hold one for you as they arrive. The retail price will be $85.
DeLush Rating:

What They Say: "15-hour wear. Light as air. Long-wear makeup is now lightweight makeup. Fresh, natural, comfortable. Goes on sheer, leaves skin free to breathe all day. Controls oil, resists smudging and won't "melt" off through heat and humidity. For a look that stays vibrant and fresh whether it's a workday, a workout or a weekend. It's makeup that keeps up. Smooth it on once and don't think twice about it. Oil-free. Photo-friendly. Fragrance-free. Non-acnegenic. Dermatologist-tested."
Jen's Experience: Those of you who have been reading this site for a while might know that in the summer I usually switch from my heavier-coverage foundation to a tinted moisturizer so that my skin can breathe a little more easily in the blazing heat. When this product first came on the market, I really thought that it was more of a tinted moisturizer (maybe because it has SPF?) but I was surprised when I first started using it that it really is just a lighter version of their Double Wear foundation. I absolutely love the original, and I'm pretty sold on this lighter version too. While the original formula is more of a heavy coverage, this one is light to medium (building pretty easily to medium, actually). I don't know if it stays for a full 15 hours, but I do know that it stays throughout my workday without a singe touch-up, and that alone is fantastic. This is also a lot easier to remove than the original formula using just normal soap and water. I was really looking for something a bit lighter for the summer months, but instead I found a stellar all-around foundation that just works as expected. Those looking for sheer coverage and breathability might be a disappointed in this one, but I am very pleased with it and I think that it will be staying in my rotation year-round.

What They Say: "Keeps your eyecolor in place with 15-hour staying power. Extends the wear of powder eyeshadow and keeps it smooth and crease-free. Ophthalmologist-tested. Fragrance-free."
Jen's Experience: If you have trouble getting your eyeshadow and eyeliner to stay in place, or you're always rubbing your eyes and ruining your make-up artistry, you're going to LOVE this new product from Estee Lauder. Much like their fantastic Doublewear foundation and concealer, this base makes any eyeshadow wear better and longer. I was amazed when I came home from a long day at work (and a serious workout to boot) and saw my powder eyeshadows still in place, and even more amazed that even my gel and liquid eyeliners seem to stay in place throughout the day whenever I wear this eyeshadow base. The colors of my eyeshadows also look a little truer since they're applied over a neutral color. This is one of the best products I've tested in a long time and an absolute essential in my morning make-up routine.

What They Say: "Multi colors. Multi finishes. Major impact. Brilliant colors, silky formula looks richer, wears longer, without creasing. Sleek, modern compact includes applicator and mirror. Make a statement with one dramatic shade, lash to brow. Or play with all the colors and matte to high pearl finishes. Now see your eyes take on a new brilliance. Fragrance free. Ophthalmologist-tested."
Jen's Experience: I've tested Estee Lauder's shades in the past with good results. I love the silky soft texture, and it's nice to have eyeshadows that actually last. The shades for the Bronze Goddess collection are gorgeous: 'Gilded Goddess' is a light gold that makes a nice base for any shade, and 'Bronze Goddess', the signature color, is darker and is a good contrast color to wear in the crease. (I've also been using it a bit on my eyebrows.) If you liked the shades from the Holiday Collection 2006 and didn't manage to pick them up before they were sold out, you'll be happy to know that these colors are very similar. The colors looked good with my pale skintone, particularly along with the Bronze Goddess bronzer, but I think they would be a better fit with warmer skin tones.

About the SoftDuo Bronzer: "Give yourself a heavenly glow with this super-luxurious powder bronzer duo. Unique oil-control complex keeps skin shine-free and comfortable. Two smooth, oil-free shades blend brilliantly to give face, shoulders and décolletage a seductive bronze look."
Jen's Experience: We've reviewed Estee Lauder's bronzers for both summer and fall 2006 with great results, but I think this season, they've decided to really give the bronzing a bigger role in the look (you know, since they called their Summer 2007 collection "Bronze Goddess"). Since I am extremely pale, a little bit of bronze makes me look alive. When I apply this duo of bronzers lightly and evenly, it looks very natural and makes me look like I just came in from a day in the sun. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful most of the time in getting just enough to look natural. I think the shade may be a little dark for those with very fair skin, but I'm optimistic that those with medium or more golden skin tones would have better luck.
Retail Price: $29.50 (EsteeLauder.com)
About the nail lacquer: "A luxurious new brilliance at your fingertips. Rich, glossy, quick-drying and long-wearing. Truly intense color is so shiny it looks wet--but don't be fooled. Resists chipping, even in water. Won't fade, dull or streak, even in strong sunlight. Specially designed brush shape makes application incredibly easy. Just three strokes of color--middle, left and right--and you're done. Even the bottle is striking. "
Jen's Experience: Melissa has reviewed Estee Lauder's nail color in the past, and I have to agree with her assessment. I left the application to the professionals, but from what I can tell, it's easy to apply evenly and is extraordinarily shiny. It also seems to be very chip resistant, which means I don't have to go back to the professionals for a pedicure very often. Of the two special colors from this collection, the Coral Reef was definitely the color for me. The peachy-pink color brings out warmth in my skin tone and matches a good bit of my wardrobe. The namesake shade, Bronze Goddess, would be much better for those with warm undertones. Held against the blue undertones of my skin, I looked pretty cadaverous. Coral Reef definitely works for me though, and it will likely be my signature shade for summer!

Nail Lacquer

What They Say: "For a flawless look with 15-hour staying power.
Long-wearing, lightweight concealer with easy-to-use wand applicator creates the perfected look of flawless skin all day.
Conceals flaws and corrects the look of undereye circles, dark spots and discolorations.
Transfer-resistant, color-true formula provides full coverage that won't slip, slide or melt away.
Fragrance free. Dermatologist- and Ophthalmologist-tested."
Jen's Experience: On my recent trip to Paris, I decided to change my packing strategy and take less cosmetics and more shoes (shocking, I know). Normally I would bring along my Bobbi Brown corrector and the whole concealer kit and the brush since that's what has always worked best for me. But, it turns out, I can get pretty much the same effect with much less product (and for way less money).
I'm already a huge fan of the Double Wear foundation, which will stay for days unless you remove it with a washcloth and soap. I knew I'd be out of hotel for many hours at a time and be taking a lot of pictures, so staying power was something I was looking for, and this really has it. Much like the foundation, it doesn't come off until you coerce it with soap. And the coverage is really natural and blends extremely well into my skin to cover up my dark undercircles. It's almost as good as the Bobbi Brown at creating a flawless look under my eyes, but the benefits (like the extreme long-wear) totally outweigh the slight difference in performance.
I'm a total convert. Now that I'm back at home, I'll be saving all those precious minutes in my morning routine by making a permanent switch to this concealer. It's the MVP of my make-up bag.

Jen's Experience: We've reviewed this eyeshadow before on DeLush with very good results, so this is just an update to let you know about this new shade, Ginger Drop, as part of the Holiday Spirit collection. I have a ton of gold eyeshadows in my make-up drawer in powders and creams and by all different companies. It's probably my favorite shade to wear, and now this color from Estee Lauder is the star of all my golds. I absolutely love the silky soft powder. It goes on so evenly, blends easily, and really stays put. This particular gold has a little bit of shininess to it, but it isn't shimmery, so you can wear it to work or out shopping, or dress it up with dark eyeliner for evening. This and the Lip Palette are the must-haves out of the Holiday Spirit collection, and hopefully this color will become part of the everyday colors from Estee Lauder.

About Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Golden Nude: "Sheer electricity, daring shine.
Incredible formula glides onto lips with shine that's pushed to the absolute limit.
Cool, crystalline shades dazzle with brilliant dimensional effects. The ultra luxe lipstick is delicately fragranced with a delectable fresh fig scent. Even the case is striking."
Jen's Experience: This was my first time using Estee Lauder lipsticks, and I have really enjoyed using them along with other products in the Holiday Spirit collection. This particular color, Golden Nude, is really true to the name. Alone, I might look washed out, but along with some warm blush and more defined eyes, this lipstick really works for my pale skintone. I really liked it along with the gold Holiday Spirit gloss from the lip palette with smoky gray eyes. My friends asked repeatedly what kind of lipstick I was wearing, and that's a sign that this is a color that works for me. I wish it wore a little longer (1-2 hours for me), and I could really do without the fig flavor, but the color applies beautifully even over dry lips and looks great on, so overall, I'm pleased.
About the Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Sugar Honey: "Pure impact. Pure luxury. Pure emotion.
Intense, high-shine color in a long-wearing formula that pampers, comforts. Incredibly luxurious, with Vitamins C and E plus natural moisturizers. Creates maximum color impact and helps lips look smooth and even. Delicately fragranced with a delectable fresh fig scent. Striking, sophisticated case is quite chic."
Jen's Experience: Although this color looks fairly similar to the other color, it's actually much darker and more intense with a bit of a lavender tinge. I like the color itself, although I don't think it's drawn any compliments, but I don't like the formula of the Long Lasting lipstick quite as much as that of the Crystal. It seems like it made my lips feel drier and flakier, and I am not even sure that it really lasted all that much longer than the normal formula. That said, the color is really nice with this season's grays and blacks, and along with the other lipstick reviewed above, this is part of my staple make-up wardrobe for the season.

What They Say: "15-hour staying power. Flawless all day.
Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh, looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity.
Won't change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Lightweight and comfortable.
Expanded shade range complements every skintone.
Oil-free. Fragrance-free. Non-acnegenic. Dermatologist-tested."
Jen's Experience: Let me get right to it: this is one of the most amazing foundations I've ever used. I've never had a foundation that literally will not come off unless you wash it off. With soap. I can go out of the house and come back 12 hours later and not only is my foundation still there, my blush/bronzer and concealer that I've applied over it are still there.
This is definitely not a medium coverage foundation. In fact, it makes other foundations I've used that are said to be medium to full look like light coverage. This stuff will cover up ANYTHING. Some people might not like that; it looks a little artificial unless I put on a nice coat of facial moisturizer underneath. For those who would like to build their coverage, I'd recommend mixing with a good quality moisturizer to not only lighten it up a little, but also to get a little extra use out of the bottle while giving your skin a little extra moisture.
That said, this is my new favorite foundation and for those of you who are looking for a long-wear full-coverage foundation, I think it will be your new favorite as well.

What They Say: "Lips glisten and gleam in the soft shades of the season.
Limited-edition palette includes four shining lip glosses in tones that are easy to wear. For an elegant, just-so glow.
From the Holiday Spirit collection--the look of the season."
Jen's Experience: This is the first product that I'll be reviewing as part of the Estee Lauder Holiday Spirit Collection, and it's one of my favorite Estee Lauder products not just in this collection, but in their entire line. The glosses, which on first contact may seem a little gooey, apply easily using the included lip brush to gorgeous sheer tints in warm colors that look great even with my blue undertones. The more gold tints can be used for a neutral shade with gold smoky eyes for the popular metallic looks of the season, while the redder shades look great with plums and other fall colors. The texture is similar in thickness to other Estee Lauder lip glosses I've tried in their tube formulas, thicker than some glosses on the market, but not sticky at all. The color lasts for about 2 hours as long as I don't eat or drink anything.
This palette is absolutely a staple for all my holiday ensembles (and for work), but it would make an excellent gift this holiday season as well.

This light purple-silver frosty metallic is subtle enough to be classic-looking as well as up-to-the-minute.
The brush is, as they say, a fabulous tool for applying even color in just a few swipes. This is also substantial enough to use only one coat and still have good coverage. Because of the bit of frost in this particular shade, it's not glossy-slick in finish, but it does have a nice shine. If you add a glossy topcoat, you can add more of a smooth finish.
This does indeed dry fairly quickly and lasts at least several days with no chipping. I've found a new favorite!

Melissa wearing Plum Wine
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: With its slightly sweet fragrance and very pretty translucent rosy shade, I found this appealing from the beginning. For being sheer, it's got great shine and color concentration. It's also incredibly comfortable and pillowy in consistency, and not at all sticky. While I find it lasts well for the most part, when eating or drinking it tends to come off more. That aside, I would still consider this a definite purse-worthy gloss - one that will get heavy rotation this season when I'm not in the mood for lipstick.
Jen's Experience: My experience with this gloss is somewhat different from Melissa's, but nonetheless I am liking this lip gloss a lot. The color, as Melissa said, is a sheer rose if you apply it sparingly, but with a thicker application, it becomes a deep plum, almost like a gooey lip stain. The crystals in the gloss lend to terrific shine, but luckily, it doesn't appear to have tiny sparkles in it, which was my fear. If you're looking for an easy way to get in on the plum lips trend, this is an easy way to pull it off. I'm not too crazy about the grape flavor, but I will let that pass for the perfect plum color I get from the gloss.

What They Say: "“The new intensity in eye color. Multi colors. Multi finishes. Major impact. Brilliant new colors, silky new formula looks richer, wears longer, without creasing. Sleek, modern compact includes applicator and mirror. Make a statement with one dramatic shade, lash to brow. Or play with all the colors and matte to high pearl finishes. Now see your eyes take on a new brilliance. Fragrance free. Opthalmologist tested.”
Toya’s Take: I tried the Pure Color Single Eyeshadow in Lagoon, which is a light frosty blue and Ivy, which is a very dark forest green. The first thing I noticed is how cute the packaging is – clear, hard plastic so that you can see the actual color. Inside the package is a small mirror and a sponge-tip applicator, which I, of course, never used. (Just don’t, y’all. The color doesn’t apply as well and it tugs on your skin. But I digress.) I decided to try them out during a dance audition, when I’d be dancing for four hours straight. Lagoon didn’t do very well on me – the frosty blue kind of turned gray on my skin. But the Ivy is really nice – the dark green made my brown eyes browner. I think it’ll be great to do a green smoky eye. The shadows felt silky smooth when applied and lasted a really long time – straight through a long, sweaty audition.
Jamie’s Thoughts: At first glance, I fell in love with the packaging. Like the rest of the line, each eye shadow appears “frozen” in a block of clear acrylic – they look like little ice cubes! Perfect for fall and winter.
The shades I received, a powdery pink and lavender, were soft, sweet, and completely outside my comfort zone in regards to color. I soldiered on through my fear of pastels and found that the product is very smooth, and easy to apply. It’s subtle and mature in a way that allows you to put several layers on (to intensify the color) without looking like an extra from a Pat Benatar music video. The pink brightened up my eye quite nicely – one of my coworkers even mentioned that I looked really fresh and awake. Bonus!
Note to eye rubbers: the shadow moves around a bit on the lid, so be cautious when you itch.
Jen's Experience: When I first started using these eyeshadows, I was concerned that the shades I was using, Pink Ice and Cinnamon, would be too pale and would look, well...weird. They are a little on the pale side compared to the sand and steel colors that are normally in my palette, but I think I need to rethink my make-up wardrobe after wearing these shadows for a while, because I don't think I've ever gotten so many complements on my eye make-up before.

Cinnamon over Pink Ice
I use the lighter Pink Ice on the entire lid with a eyeshadow brush (or just my fingertip), all the way up to my eyebrow and then follow with Cinnamon in the crease area, using a Blender brush to even out the color. I follow that up with a black eyeliner for interest, or a khaki for a more natural look. I also found that Pink Ice was a good base color for other eyeshadows in my collection, particularly Chanel Pink Lame.
I was really surprised by how long-lasting these shadows are considering the amount of shimmer in them. They last all day for me, even though I am an admitted eye rubber. I do generally manage to rub away the eyeliner that I've applied over the eyeshadow, but this is a problem I am willing to work on since these shadows work so beautifully for me.

What They Say: "Seductive curves.
Now, power shape your lashes with up to 160% more curl.
Advanced aerodynamic gel formula with innovative curling polymers gives lashes weightless, seductive curves, without stiffness or flaking.
New pigment technology creates intense black impact shades that absorb light and surround your eyes in the beauty of deep, rich color.
Fragrance free. Ophthalmologist-tested."
Jen's Experience: I am, admittedly, extremely picky when it comes to mascara. My eyes are always dry, so I rub them a lot, and then it's all smudged under my eyes or flaky or both. I was anxious to try this one because I've been so focused on finding a mascara that doesn't make me look like a football player that I've not yet gotten a chance to try a more fun mascara, such as this one that curls lashes in addition to the coat of color.
The mascara did indeed produce a curling effect on my lashes that I thought was very noticeable, especially around the outer edges of my eyes. I didn't find it very easy to coat all of my lashes. The brush is very basic and while it didn't clump despite all the layers I applied, I felt that I needed to keep inventory of which lashes I had already covered. When I first started using the mascara, I applied only one or two coats, and didn't find that it deposited enough color to give the effect I was hoping for. Unfortunately, when I started adding additional layers, I started seeing the dreaded football player effect.
I like this mascara for its pretty curling effect and because it never seems to flake, but I wish it produced more volume or length, or even just some dark, shiny black color. This is one I may try in combination with other mascaras to see if I can achieve a more dramatic lash along with the maximum curls provided by this mascara.

What They Say: "Experience the look, the feel, the beauty of azurée, Summer 2006, from the Tom Ford Estée Lauder Collection. Three color palettes--azurée, st. tropée and cap bronzée. Three mysterious places that epitomize the legends of the beach. Create your look with the shades from one palette and the universal must-haves that work with all 3 palettes. Tom Ford on the azurée makeup collection: "This is a collection for the woman whose fantasy takes her away to sexy, remote beaches."
Sweep on a lighter shade over entire eyelid. Use the deeper shade on the outer edge of eye. Smooth on sparingly and blend."
Jen's Experience:The shades in the Azuree eye palette are very similar to the Laura Mercier shades I bought a few months back. But like all the Azuree shades, they're designed for someone with naturally warm skin tones or a really nice tan. This isn't to say I haven't been wearing these shadows constantly since I got them. I like the lightly shimmery color. They go on so smoothly. They feel like they're full of moisture, which means they're also really easy to blend. I found that I especially liked the darker brown color as an eyeliner when slightly moistened and applied with a thin brush. Since they're vry moisture rich, they fade a litle more quickly than some other eyeshadows I have, but you can definitely extend the wear by pressing the color with a bit of transparent powder. If you're getting the other Azuree color products, I highly recommend picking up the eyeshadow as well to round out your collection.

Starting at top of cheekbone, near middle of ear, apply forward toward nose, following natural line of face and blend."
Jen's Experience: I was a little doubtful about how well this would work when I first took the cap off of the Cheek Glow. It seemed a little too solid to apply easily and blend well. All my doubts are gone now; the more I use it, the more I like it.
This cream blush applies like a cream blush, and blends easily. Unlike other cream blushes that come in a pot, this one allows my fingertips to stay relatively clean aside from some light blending. Because it's more solid than other cream blushes I've used, it is much more difficult to over-apply so the effect is really natural. In fact, I like to make a second swipe on the underside of my cheekbons for extra depth.
As for the color, if you're using a face glow product regularly or you have a warmer skintone, I think you'll find you like this color a lot. For those of you with blue undertones (like me), you'll definitely need to test it with your skin-tone. I find that it looks great when I have a little color, but when I've been spending too much time under the fluorescent lights at the office, it's a bit orangey. They make another shade called St. Tropee glow that is more of a pink, and that may be a better choice than the Azuree for the fairer skin tones.
Overall, the formulation is fantastic and it's definitely a product I'm hoping Estee Lauder continues to expand beyond their Summer Collection.

What They Say: "Have you been looking for an extra glossy with a cushiony comfortable-to-wear formula that never feels sticky? Presenting Estée Lauder High Gloss, a lip gloss packed with nourishing ingredients that moisturize and imporive the condition of lips to make them look smoother and feel softer, while imparting a blindingly beautiful gleam.
High Gloss drenches your lips with a delectable "wet"-looking color that provides a sheer to medium coverage that lasts without heaviness.
Thanks to a special blend of polymers and conditioners, your lips will appear full, lush, less lines, and feel fantastically hydrated and velvety soft."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: The folks at Estée Lauder have hit on something worth talking about with this new gloss. It truly is super-soft and comfortable (ever tried M·A·C's Lip Gelée? - it's got a similar cushiony feel), looks incredible without the stickiness that often accompanies high-shine glosses, and has very nice staying power. With yummy scents and weightless pretty color, you can use this gloss alone (the easy mess-free squeeze tube makes low-maintenance look GOOD) or over liner or your favorite lipstick for added oomph. Either way, you may want to snag a few of the many shades available (ranging from bronzes to berries to pinks) as soon as they hit the counters!

What They Say: "The pencil of the future.
Now, line and define with a creative touch. The ultra creamy formula is not too hard, not too soft...it's just right. Glides on effortlessly for long-wearing, stay-in-place color.
Innovative soft-touch ColorControl™ Grip makes precise application easy, whether defining, shaping or coloring. And the integrated smudger helps you create a professional look."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: For me, this pencil is not soft enough. It tugged at my lid, and I really didn't much see the benefit of the "Grip". It wasn't bad, just didn't strike me as that much better than another liner might be. Also, it didn't have an incredible amount of staying power.

What They Say: "A sublime twist of color and shine. All the rich color and brilliance of Pure Color Lipstick in a dimensional gloss. Goes way beyond shine to lavish your lips with intensely vibrant, ultra lustrous, full-volume color. Striking, sophisticated case is quite chic.
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: Estee Lauder lipsticks have never been my favorite necessarily. But my grandmother actually works at an Estee counter, and she bestowed several awesome samples upon me at Christmas, this gloss being one of them. I must say, my first thought upon applying it was "Wow. Estee Lauder finally has something that smells GOOD." It was like fruit - being that my shade was Cherry, that made sense. Now, it didn't exactly taste good enough to eat, but how many glosses actually do? It was pleasant enough. I really liked the texture of the gloss - not too sticky or heavy, and the shine really was a plus just like they touted. Although, I would have liked it to stay put a bit longer.

What They Say: "Create the smoldering eyes you desire with 5 high-impact shades that redefine the look of liquid liner.
Draw the perfect line every time--taper thin or dramatically lush. Precision brush guarantees easy-to-control application and custom coverage.
Inky liquid formula is long-lasting, non-smudging, non-smearing."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: Liquid liner has always been a tricky situation for me. I detest any that make too bold a line, because inevitably I will make a globby, uneven mark above my eyelid. That's just me. Choosing the right formula that won't smudge after a few hours has also been an issue. I've really not been a huge fan of liquid liners because of these things. So when I saw this one by Estee Lauder, I got pulled in by the packaging design and colors available.
The applicator is indeed extremely fine, which means that you don't have to worry about the 'gloop factor', and the color can be built up as narrow or as thick as you prefer. It also lends itself much easer to lower lid application.
I tried this liner in Plum Cassis, and found that for a liquid, it had very good wearability, and lasted the entire day at work without smearing or smudging.

Ultrasonically dispersed pigments create high-impact shades up to 30% more intense. MAXIMUM BENEFITS - Unique moisturizing complex forms a protective barrier that helps prevent breakage. Won't flake, smudge or clump."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: I personally found this mascara to be a tad bit clumpy, even though it says otherwise. Perhaps this is because I always layer my mascara, 2-3 times. I didn't feel like there was enough coverage on my lashes after one application, which is all they say you need. It did, however, add some volume and wore all day.

Jamie tried it: Given that so many other reviews have all but deified this last installation of the Private Collection, I had high expectations for this brash and creamy floral. It's a bit of a curveball fragrance for me - I thought I knew what I was getting into at the start ("green floral chypre") but instead it seemed, to my nose, dusty and old-fashioned. The top notes reminded me strongly of something a grandmother would wear - and not in the classy, memorable way. Once the initial burst died down, it turned into a sweeter, fresher floral with just the right amount of jasmine coming to the forefront. The base notes of vetiver and a distinctively mossy smell (the "white moss mist" ingredient is proprietary to Estee Lauder) finished off warmly without being overly sweet. I was so thrilled not to be hit over the head with the lilies and jasmine that this just scored a slot in my summer rotation. Despite the initial granny opening notes, this robust floral is otherwise stunning.
Melissa Tried It: This scent seemed right up my alley..."A rich core of Molten Woods and Amber, surrounded by atmospheric florals, warmed by a hint of Pepper and a touch of Honey." It's long-lasting, and wears a bit more like a musk than a perfume (though it is not a musk). I guess what I mean is it's deep right from the start, which makes sense seeing as they were setting out to redefine "the traditional fragrance structure of Top, Middle and Base notes. Instead, a Warm core is surrounded by Feminine, Luminous notes." I find it to be the kind of warm, rich, but unassuming fragrance that can easily become a signature scent for any type of woman.
What They Say: "Celebrate the season of fun.
It's a cool, refreshing spray version of Beautiful, the fragrance of a thousand flowers. A tender bouquet of violets and lilies, roses and lilacs, marigold and orange blossoms.
Limited edition bottle adds to the fun with a swirling modern design. Just spray all over...and step into summer."
Jamie’s Thoughts: I’m typically conflicted about perfume re-runs, most likely because smart perfumeries tend to reinvent their bestsellers, often with mixed results. The original “Beautiful” was launched in 1985 and remains a bestseller today, with a huge reputation to uphold.
Estee Lauder’s intentions were good with this lighter version of the classic fragrance. The floral notes are all still present, but sadly, the hints of citrus, melon, and orange blossoms have been lessened, which (in my opinion) throws off the balance that made the original “Beautiful” so amazing to wear. Those of you that love the original for its base notes of sandalwood, myrrh, and frankincense won’t be very happy with this seasonal reincarnation, as those notes have been downgraded to a supporting role. I also found it quite heavy for something that is being marketed as an “all over, refreshing spray.” If you like intense florals, you’ll love this.
Fortunately, the “Summer Fun” version retains the casual, yet sophisticated quality of the original. It works just as easily with sweats as it does with a pinstripe suit. Be forewarned, however: you may have to reapply. I wore this every day for an entire week, and by my afternoon Diet Coke break, it was gone. All in all? The swirled-pattern bottle is very distinctive, unfortunately, the fragrance is not.

What They Say: "From a luxurious, limited edition collection of delights inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow, all surrounding you Estée Lauder pleasures, her favorite fragrance.
The limited edition Eau de Parfum Spray design gleams with golden highlights and a soft pink frosted bottle. It evokes Gwyneth Paltrow's own sense of femininity and beauty.
Estée Lauder pleasures is the delightful new spirit in fragrance. Fresh as flowers after the rain, it's a sheer floral created from lilies and peonies, jasmine and Karo-Karounde blossoms. All tingling with the rare essence of exotic Baie Rose.
Experience the joy of life's little pleasures."
Jen's Experience: I was thrilled to get to try this limited edition perfume from Estee Lauder. I absolutely love floral perfumes in general, and the combination in the description sounds amazing. When I am wearing it though, I would have liked to have been able to detect the scent of the jasmine, lilies or peonies, instead the fragrance was more of a generic floral, and a bit overwhelming at that. I think this is fine perfume for the office (in small doses), but it isn't one that I could see making my signature scent. I also think this fragrance would make an excellent holiday gift for an older woman in your life.

What They Say: "The fragrance to live in all year long.
Fresh. Luminous. Pure.
A surprise of red tulips and rosebloom. Snow-white flowers, sparkling raspberry.
Pure White Linen steals you away to the perfect summer day. Like a stroll in a flowering garden, it lifts your mood and renews your spirit.
Pure White Linen is a modern interpretation of the classic White Linen theme, offering a feeling of fresh greens and just-opened florals.
Fragrance Type: Fruity Floral
Top Notes: Succulent Grapefruit and Italian Mandarin blend with Iced Rose Tea for pure luminosity. Luscious Raspberry, Pear and green Granny Smith Apple provide a natural lively fruitiness. Dewy Greens, blooming Lilies and White Freesia portray an aura of delicate wild flowers. Soft spicy accents of White Ginger and Cardamom accentuate the crispness.
Middle Notes: The signature core of whimsical Red Tulips is surrounded by a velvety array of Rose Absolute, Wild Honeysuckle, Gardenia Petals and a touch of Tuberose. Luxurious Jasmine, Soft Iris and Osmanthus add sophistication to the floral heart.
Dry Down: White Cedarwood and Patchouli give a seductive warmth to the background. White Heliotropine envelops the woods with smooth sensuality and femininity."
Jen's Experience: When I first received this perfume, I thought it might be too mature for me, like something my mother would enjoy. But then I wore it to work for the first time and fell in love with it. Although they describe many layers of notes, I think of this scent as uncomplicated and undeniably feminine. It wears for a very long time, 6-8 hours easily, without having to overapply in the AM. A traditional scent that is great for formal and work use, this would be a good choice for someone looking for a classic summertime floral fragrance.
Retail Price: $35.00/1 oz. (Estee Lauder)
What They Say: "The new fantasy in fragrance.
It's an intoxication of the senses...rare, radiant, intriguing.
Estée Lauder Beyond Paradise transports you to a perfect world of optimism and wonder. Unfolds on your skin with a fascinating blend of tropical wetness, zesty freshness and bursting floralcy. "
Jen's Experience: This product got rave reviews from multiple women's magazines, so I was eager to try it. When I tried it on, I was pleased that it had a clean scent that was not overpowering. It reminds me of the way my hair smells when I use a floral shampoo. This would not be a perfume I would consider wearing on a date, but for a daytime perfume for work, I think it would be a nice selection. One downside, it does not seem to last for more than a few hours.

This week's Face of Fall focuses on Estee Lauder "Mythical Beauty", their color line for Fall 2006. The colors in this line aren't as dramatic as some of the other looks we've seen this season, but the rich colors and illuminators give a glowy, rich look that fits right in with the chocolates and plums that are popular right now.
-- Jen

Want to know Estee Lauder's secret to beautiful, glowing skin? This illuminator is the key to their Mythical Beauty look for Fall 2006. This is one of the limited edition items in the Fall collection, so if this is something you can't wait to try, visit your local department store to get some before they run out! Toya will be reviewing this item in upcoming weeks, so check back to see the DeLush Review.
Retail Price: $40.00

Even if you're not trying to achieve the Mythical Beauty look, you might want to add these pigment dense eyeshadows to your beauty shopping list for fall. The Mythical Beauty shades are Smokey, Berry Ice and Onyx, but be sure to visit the Estee Lauder counter near you for other pretty shades. Toya, Jamie and I will be reviewing these on Friday, so be sure to drop by to get the downlow on these hot eyeshadows!

If you're a fan of glosses like me (who isn't?), Estee Lauder has added some new colors to their glosses for Fall to coordinate with the Mythical Beauty look. The colors, White Chocolate, Platinum Rose, and Plum Wine can be used by themselves or overtop the coordinating lipstick shades for more intense color. These glosses will be reviewed during Fall Is Fabulous in upcoming weeks.
Retail Price: $20.00

And speaking of coordinating lipsticks, Estee Lauder has expanded the color range of their award-winning lipsticks for Fall 2006. The new shade in their Pure Color Crystal Lipstick is Berry Truffle. They've added two new shades to their Long Lasting Lipstick, Fig and Platinum Rose.
Retail Price: $22.00

Retail Price: $37.00

Estee Lauder is recommending this eyeliner in black to coordinate with the other items in the Mythical Beauty look, but after seeing this eyeliner in blue, I am more excited about trying out the dramatic blue eye look that Melissa highlighted last Friday.
Retail Price: $22.50

The new shades of the nail lacquer, Plum Cassis and Platinum Twilight, are a perfect way to round out the collection, and provide a nice contrast to the bright colors and blacks that we've seen in other places this season. The Plum, in particular, looks like the perfect coordinating shade to the other items in the Mythical Beauty Collection. Melissa will be reviewing the lacquer in Platinum Twilight later this month during Fall Is Fabulous.
